Activation, settings and use of the Person Service

What is Person Service?

Person Service is a way for clinics to search for patient (client) data based on their SSN, first, middle and last name and insert or update them for a new or existing client.


App Activation

To activate the Person Service, you can go to apps in the program and the app is located under ‘Essential Apps’ section:

The Person Service requires the Electronic Messages app to be activated and that the CVR number is filled out.

Beware! You need to delegate rights to Aspit via Altinn.no to activate the Person Service app.

There is a special case when a clinic has a subsidiary organization number, in which case that number will be used to make the API calls against the EDI Microservice.

You can set the sub-organization number in the Settings page, under ‘Your Profile’:

The activation will show the initial introduction screen, followed by two screens that will check for the correct delegation of rights and agreement signature. If any of the two are invalid, an error would be shown and the user needs to refer to the links on how to do that, and then come back to activate.


App Settings

Once the app is activated, you can always check the status of delegation and the agreement in your settings page:

The delegation or agreement might either expire, get revoked, or become unsigned because you’ve changed the CVR number of your clinic. Use the links to fix the issues, come back to the settings screen and click ‘Refresh settings’ to check whether they are valid again.


Search for client

When you want to create new client, but only have limited data, you can opt to use the Person Service to find the corresponding client and import their full dataset.


Under ‘Add Client’ click the ‘Search in Person Service’ link:

This module will let you search for your client. If there are no results, you will get the corresponding message:

If the search yields results, it will be shown in the form of a clickable list:

Once you click one of the results, the full data set will be fetched from the EDI Microservice and inserted into the ‘Add client’ info fields. You are free to further edit any of the fields and fill out any of the missing data too - afterwards you just click to save your client’s data and you’re done.


Updating a client

To update an existing client with new data, go to client view screen, and click the ‘Edit’ button:

Once the ‘Edit Client’ page opens, click the ‘Update via Person Service’ button at the bottom of the page:

This will search for the data based on the SSN and update the form:
